An important message about Boxers and rescue
The Boxer breed is suffering from more than just large numbers. Poor breeding is causing offspring to have more temperament and health problems. The dog we all know and love is in danger of being designated as unreliable. Some insurance companies are already refusing policies to owners of certain breeds, among them the Boxer. Since rescues deal with the largest concentrated numbers it is their obligation to educate the public in hopes that things will change. Because of the large number of Boxers in rescue and for those that will continue to come in from the many backyard breeders, there is going to be a need for a Rescue in Northern California and Oregon. I am currently working towards forming a group that can work together in spite of state lines. I am looking for volunteers experienced in fund raising and organizational skills in order to make this dream a reality. I have put together a list of some of the work for volunteers. I am very open to suggestions from the "Boxer World", the main goal being to help the breed that we love. Every time I know of a Boxer in trouble who is not rescued it breaks my heart, knowing what the outcome for them probably is. A few hours out of your life every month or so to give a Boxer a chance for a better life.

Any help is appreciated no matter how small. Many people doing little can accomplish much. Don't let the Boxer become a breed that is feared and undependable and not true to the standard for characteristics. Love of children and people in general, their antics that make them such lovable clowns and those wonderful big soulful eyes that go right to your heart, even when they have done their worst.
