Hootch was another Sacramento boy who was diagnosed with cancer the first week. I had the lumps removed and the big guy went to a new home. His new mom wasn't too sure about the boy since he was pretty big for a Boxer boy, but soon he was sleeping on the bed and devoted to his family. Over the next three years he developed more lumps and his family had them taken care of and he would come home and settle in again. The last time though it was more serious than just lumps and he started to slow down and it was obvious he was in pain and extremely uncomfortable. His dad took him in and sent him to the bridge. Fortunately his last years were filled with love and good care unlike his first years living in need on the streets.
